Christianity is taking a hit at every turn. Whether it's TV, the internet, magazine articles printed or online, or simply those who espouse that Christianity is about done for and won’t last much longer. Who made them the spokespersons of society? The bottom line is that if this consistent messaging of Christianity’s demise is getting through to our young people, we must start fighting back before it’s too late to save our kids, our grandkids. Otherwise, as bad as this little world seems now, can you imagine what it would be like if we, by our own inactivity, gave away the future of our faith? If you think what I'm trying to do is a reasonable attempt to help Christians and non-Christians want to learn more about our Savior just tell me yes or no, and if you have time, why you answered with a yes or no. If you want to help me, that would be great too.
For weeks on end, we’ve all watched as more communities face the heartbreak of mass killings of innocent men, women, and children. I'm not going to use this space to debate gun control, or the second amendment. What I believe is that Faith, Hope and Love have become lost words in a non-descript, vacuous population of greed, lust, and self-indulgence. Taking away Christianity is the only way the far-left conspiracies can hope to exist. Those forces are doing an excellent job of defining Christians as over-the-top religious zealots. Being blunt, “they” want to take down our democracy and our freedom of religion with a well-funded attack on the moral fabric of this country and its people. They want a haven for degenerates, murderers, and those who prey on the weak and helpless who will then bring down society as a whole. The only thing that stands in the way of them reaching their goals is a united, like-minded organization of individuals who are finally waking up and saying, “enough is enough.”
Have you ever really looked at the rallies which happen to be a good backdrop for the yelling and screaming of those with the bull horns or the loudest voices. Do you suppose they are getting paid by some private group? Or maybe you think they are just overly generous with their time? What if it’s a little of both? I think we should start finding out more about how these generous loud mouths get their money. Speaking of rallies, it seems every group mad about one thing or another shouts down those who disagree with them. It's simply about bullies pushing and shoving their beliefs down our throats. So let’s push back. I'm not proposing that we shout down anyone, not advising physical contact at all, but I am tired of everyone having a soapbox to blame the other side for their life's failures.
This is just my personal opinion and I’m not asking anyone to agree with me, but I think politics has become a joke. Why do they spend hundreds of millions for a job that pays a Senator or a Representative $174,000. Of course they have more than opulent offices and many aides and gofers to help them in their most difficult times. Such as what time do we tee off tomorrow, or how long can we stay in Paris on our “fact finding” mission? Yes, I know I’m being a little tacky. I think they all should have term limits and quit making them celebrities. Someone should be tending the store who cares.
Pardon my tirade, but our government has lost its moral compass and we must get it back. As Christians, together we have the ability to make a huge difference in how things are done. Why are we letting small numbers of people out-work us, out-plan us, out-work us? We need to once again have a voice in the affairs of this country. Why is that privilege only for those who espouse giving away our country away to anyone with a big enough check?
This is what I want to do, and if you agree, I hope you will help me. First of all, let me say that I have sinned more than you and fifty others combined. I have paid dearly for my mistakes, but I can tell you this: Had I not failed miserably and fallen from that mountain, I would not have been on my knees thanking Him for His forgiveness.
This country needs His forgiveness. Every time I hear a politician say God Bless America I twinge. Why? Because God has blessed this nation from its birth. We keep asking him for his continual blessing all the time throwing our overly materialistic, anti-Christian, and holier-than-thou attitudes in His face. If we don’t stop our present-day behavior, we may find out what it is like to have God say, “You want my continued blessing, remember who it was that died for you.”
Every journey begins with that first step; so, I’m putting on my shoes and heading out the door. I want to start a rebirth of trust, hope, manners, smiles, and living in peace again. The corruption that has invaded almost every rural community and city in the country has to stop. The hate, distrust, and lack of civility to one another is only going to keep leading us down a path of complete social breakdown . . . if it already hasn’t.
